Sandy Hook Elementary Will Get Rebuilt

Dear Newtown, Connecticut

On December 14 2012 the worst thing you would never imagine of happening happened. You might think there is no purpose in living anymore, but have you stopped to think that you might be that one person that makes a change? You can be the person that stops the comments that say “if only we could have done something sooner” or “they were so young.” You can be that one that makes a big impact in our country.

Likewise, you’re not alone. I know the feeling of losing someone you love. I lost my dad about four years ago in a car accident. Trust me, at first I felt horrible. But as the years passed, I got better and better. Like the saying goes, “healing comes with time.” Just let time take its course. I know you don’t know me, but if any of you need to talk or get something off your chest, read my letter and I bet you’ll feel much better.

Ever since the whole tragic event I’ve been a little uneasy about school security, especially at my school. If that person was able to get into an elementary school imagine what could happen to a high school, especially when the front door is always open and the school has many other open places where bad people could get in. Just thinking about that makes me nervous to go to school. Plus, just like my school police officer said, if a student finds out a way to skip school without getting caught, someone with bad intentions can come in and no one will notice as easily.
